Frangos & Associates LLC is a middle-size but expanding law firm established in 2000 and is situated in Larnaca.  Recently we have moved to our new freehold premises which comprise, inter alia a covered office space of 500 sq.m.

The firm was founded by Iosif Frangos after obtaining his bar licence in 1999, following his legal studies in London.  Mr. Iosif Frangos obtained his LLB at UCL law school and then acquired his masters at LSE. His master’s degree was a combination of banking and evidence law.

Mr.Iosif Frangos initially practiced as a sole practitioner mainly engaged in litigation work, but the growth of the firm has been admirable.

The founder’s ambition for success and legal excellence combined with very hard work paid off.  Over the 9 years of our firm’s existence we now employ 20 people, 6 of whom are lawyers and one may confidently say that we fall under the upcoming average size law firms in Cyprus. 
 
Our personnel speak at least Greek and English.  In addition, we have three Russian, one Dutch and one German speaking employees; hence communication with our Russian speaking clients can take place conveniently.

Our firm is divided in 3 main departments:

Our legal and litigation department is mainly handling civil law actions with particular attention in the fields of banking law, insurance law, commercial law, tort and negligence, contract law, corporate law and property law.  We also handle family law and employment law.  We are currently listed as one of the law firms handling litigation work for the four main banks in Cyprus (Bank of Cyprus, Marfin Laiki Bank, Hellenic Bank and Alpha Bank) and some of the smaller cooperative banks.  PWC and KPMG are also some of the big names that have been using our litigation service for the last few years.  Recommendation letters can be provided upon request.

Legal work on various aspects of the law, including legal opinions, contract drafting, negotiations etc, appear heavily on our agenda.

Our litigation team has handled a large volume of complex litigation disputes in all fields of law with particular attention to banking law, commercial and contract law, family law, employment law, insurance and personal injuries, competition law, criminal law and debt recovery.

Our real estate department has been mainly handling the legal work of foreign individuals and/or entities purchasing property in Cyprus for residential or investment purposes.  We have managed to organise ourselves in a way that a foreign purchaser can use our firm as a one stop shop.  We are able to provide all types of land registry searches, handle all the conveyance work, obtain any relevant permits, advise on tax planning, organise inheritance and wills, deal with all land registry registrations etc.  Over the years we have created a large international client base which has been using our services for real estate work.

Our corporate department has mainly developed over the last 3 years.  Although we have always been providing corporate services, we must admit that it has only been over the last 3 years that we have organised a corporate department as such.  Over the last 3 years we have focused intently on this department and we have had amazing results. By September 2008 our portfolio of companies numbered 540.  Over this period we have been travelling heavily in order to attract business and the effort paid off.  We now represent large groups based in Moscow and Kiev and we are associated with a number of professional intermediaries who introduce business to us. Our corporate clients are mainly based in Russia, Ukraine, Greece, Austria, England and other European countries.

We may say that we now possess in-depth knowledge in the field of corporate management and tax planning for international clients and we feel we are well equipped to deal with relevant requests and provide assistance in all relevant matters involving Cyprus.

We provide managerial, legal, tax, accounting and auditing, banking, documentation and contract drafting.

At the same time we engage in company registrations in all major jurisdictions around the world and can be of assistance in creating corporate tax planning structures for international clients.  We are also in a position to prepare and structure trusts and international trusts.

We tend to always have a large list of shelf companies which can be readily available within one working day.  Speed and reliability characterise our work and we feel confident that we can provide a high standard of service.

We are also in a position to provide local directors, and secretarial services, as well as both physical and corporate nominee shareholders depending on the needs of the client. 

The day to day management of the companies we manage is done with great care including the updating of the company files, the daily correspondence with the client and the immediate response to requests, daily correspondence with banks for various banking issues that may arise, issue of board resolutions and many more.

Our close contacts in the banking sector in Cyprus allow us to provide a very efficient banking service including account opening in all currencies, provision of e-banking facility, issuing of corporate plastic cards, and all other related banking services.

Accounting and auditing is another service we provide through our associated auditors including the submission of annual returns, temporary tax assessments and all tax obligations a company has in Cyprus.

Virtual office services, contract and agreement drafting, and all other issues that may concern the management of a company can also be provided by our firm.

Tax advise, escrow services, legal opinions and corporate due diligence reports can also be conducted and provided.  Our firm has been involved in some major corporate acquisitions and we have been involved in some large and complex due diligence reports.
